At present, the governance process involves the use of geospatial and communication technologies (geo-ICTs) for a smooth geo-governance inflow. The geo-ICT encompasses synergy and convergence of technologies dealing with several aspects of spatial data management including data acquisition, data assimilation, data analysis, information generation, decision support, and information dissemination. The role of geo-governance becomes far more important when governance of citizen-centric socio-economic development is taken into account. The Right to Information Act (RTI), the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), and the National Map Policy (MNP) are part of the shift towards openness and an enabling macroenvironment for geo-governance. Today, Indian government is trying to bring e-Governance and geo-Governance together. Geospatial technology is fast becoming an engine of growth for businesses and is ready to become a formidable driving force in the global as well as Indian economy. In the above regard we were keen to showcase the use of geospatial in major e- governance process. Thus an initiative GeoGov has been formulated. The two days vertical conference is scheduled on 8 – 9th February, 2012 at epicenter, Gurgoan, India. Geo-Gov would be organized under the auspicious umbrella of India Geospatial Forum 2012 (Formerly known as Map India). India Geospatial Forum 2012, the 14th Annual International Conference and Exhibition on Geospatial Information Technology and Applications, will be held on 7 - 9 Feb, 2012 at Epicentre, Gurgoan, India.
