LiDAR BASED G-GOVERNANCE DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM (GGDSS)

Land, road and utility management and human development are the main development goals of any nation which can be achieved by integrating e-governance and geospatial layer, G- GOVERNANCE to be precise. In Indian scenario urban planning is back-breaking especially in road development. Due to area congestion in some places, utilities end up in encroaching the pedestrian footpath. There are also urban maintenance and servicing problems and another issue faced is illegal hoarding which pose safety problems by obstructing the view of vehicle drivers and revenue problems where hoardings are placed in non-permitted place or in outlawed size. All these problems can be easily addressed and solved by virtualizing the real world by making on-ground data available in easily usable format which further help in better planning and management outcomes. For any infrastructure development, land acquisition followed by master and detailed planning is done. The only data source is Revenue maps that are outdated and do not match the ground information. Further any illegal constructions that do not match with blue print permitted or those constructions violating basic laws can be addressed. All this is possible with proper updation of what is there in ground at a periodicity that meets the changing pace. Hence alternative technologies that have fast and accurate data collection capability, is needed. LiDAR, an ultramodern geospatial technology that delivers outputs from 3D point cloud and verified from panchromatic images collected in parallel is proposed. This paper will have run through about LiDAR as solution technology for g-governance.
